First time attendees, Olive and Douglas Rowe write,
“As we left Fermanagh on Friday afternoon, to drive to Newcastle in Co. Down, to attend the Lay Witness Conference, we enjoyed beautiful weather. When we arrived at Glenada we received a warm welcome from the organisers.
The theme “Milestones and Mountains” was appropriate to the situation of Glenada, looking out on the mountains and sea. Our speaker Mike Williams gave five sessions on this theme. Each session began with worship leading us into Christ’s presence, ready to receive from Him what He had to say to us. Mike led us through the life of Joseph in Genesis, starting with his family background and the influences of his parents and grandparents. Mike went on through the life of Joseph showing us how the relationship with his father and brothers, his time as a slave in Potiphar’s house, and his rise to leadership in the nation where all “mountains” of experience that became “milestones” through God being with him. In every session each of us present found God speaking to us about how he guides in life, if we will but trust him.
On Sunday afternoon we said “Good Bye” and travelled to our homes in many parts of Ireland, from Killarney to Coleraine.
